About

Handmade web solutions... what the hell does that mean? I'd like to think means I work with all of the resources available to me and try to have as much fun as possible to create something wonderful. I do sketches and on paper instead of sleek graphics on my computer, I take ameteur photos instead of browsing through stock photography libraries, I paint with watercolors to create cool textures and backgrounds, and I come up with handmade solutions for your unique and oh-so ever changing needs.

I have several years of professional web production and design experience and am an expert when it comes to creating friendly, usable, standards compliant sites. Web sites should be pretty, but they must also work. My grimey sketches have soul, and they balance in perfect harmony with the application of an efficient and technically sound design process.

My name is Kendra Lucille Calhoun and my number one passion in life is music but I like making websites too. I'm a Music Performance student at Harold Washington College in Chicago, Illinois and before I ended up here, I picked up some valuable web consulting experience in the Washington, DC area. I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of smart and creative people.

Last year I made the decision to focus all of my time and energy on what I love - being a performing artist and studying music and sound. This is not lucrative. And to be honest, I prefer the finer things in life. Fancy organic food for my dog, good shoes, and then there's that college tuition thing. I've decided to make a couple of minor adjustments to my schedule to accomodate the web-needy.

So here I am with a head full of web standards, years of great experience, a little digital camera, and a big box of art supplies. Yes, here I am, ready and willing to serve up whatever your handmade-web-solution-savvy heart desires!
